Today we return to the magical Wayback Machine at Archive.org to retrieve another lost nugget. This 1996 article by John Rizzo, subtitled "Power Computing offers fast boxes at low prices", is originally from Creative Mac.
It begins:
"This month marks the first anniversary of that seemingly oxymoronic phenomenon, the Mac clone. The most successful of the cloners, Power Computing, has had a busy year redesigning models and selling speed for less. To mark its first anniversary, Power has released its fourth wave of Mac-compatible computers-the high-end PowerTower models and the low-end PowerCenter line."

A December 1994 Byte Magazine editorial by Dennis Allen is presented here from the Byte.com archives. It was the cover story that month, and a difficult time of transition for Apple. My how times have changed!
It Begins:
"Why are we focusing on Apple in this issue? It's a fair question to ask in that it's unusual for BYTE to single out one company for our cover story. However, Apple is a major player that has represented the alternative to the original IBM/Intel/Microsoft troika, and the challenges Apple faces and the technologies it is embracing will affect the rest of the computer industry."
