Take It or Leave It?
September 18, 2008
Today we return to the magical Wayback Machine at Archive.org to retrieve another lost nugget. This 1996 article by John Rizzo, subtitled "Tips from a seasoned PowerBook wanderer", is originally from Creative Mac.
It begins:
"Traveling with a PowerBook is like traveling with a small child: You have to carry a lot of extra gear and you can expect temperamental behavior.
I've dragged PowerBooks through airports foreign and domestic, struggled with presentation slides in cramped seats, and squinted over word-processed notes at dimly lit conferences. I've even dragged a PowerBook on vacations 'just to check my e-mail.' Yeah, right."

Swedish Macintosh SE Advertising Art
September 02, 2008
From myoldmac.net comes word of this beautiful and unique original art for sale. Please visit the site for more information. Own a piece of Apple History!
From myoldmac.net:
"Original artwork from the Swedish Macintosh SE ad campaign. The complete collection is now for sale - I have been asked to find a serious collector for this unique computer historic artwork. The complete collection is naturally more valuable if it is complete and not split up. If there are no takers, the pieces will be sent to Sotherby´s or Christie's auction at the first 'computer' themed auction. Let's stop that from happening!"
