That is the title of a very interesting thread at the MacTalk Australia forums.
Donnie Darko writes:
"Okay, so there I was in Newtown last week looking through Goulds Book Arcade (which is quite literally.. an awesome warehouse full of unorganized rows and rows of dusty books.. ) and I found this magazine..
'What the hell is this?' I thought.. it's Apple, yet clearly an unreleased concept. I opened it up to find much to my delight a plethora of design concepts that never came to fruition.
APPLE FANBOY GOLD.
The magazine is in Japanese, so I have no idea what most of the text says.. although there is the occasional spattering of english comments throughout. (can any MacTalkers translate?)
I have scanned & uploaded each & every page to this Flickr set - Apple concepts. (I also added little notes on what I thought of each device but unfortunately they cannot be embedded into BBcode, only HTML)
But for the sake of the thread, I will post small versions of each scan.. simply click through to be taken to the respective page's Flickr link.
Enjoy!"

Macworld Magazine January 1984 - PREMIER ISSUE 25 YEARS!
From the description:
"I purchased this first issue of Macworld magazine in late 1983. This magazine is in excellent condition with some minor abrasion wear on the back cover and some light wear on the lower-right corner. It's held up very well over the years with no smells or odd yellowing. You'll be transported back in time to the introduction of the Apple Macintosh! 145 pages."

Mac Advertising Masterpieces and Missteps
January 21, 2009
A new opinion piece at Computerworld.com, subtitled "A dozen dazzling and dopey Mac ads from the past 25 years". The Intro:
"The Macintosh turns 25 this year, and that means Mac advertising turns 25, too. From a hammer-throwing, Big Brother-smashing woman to a pair of slightly schlubby guys impersonating computers, Apple has tried lots of different ways over the years to get us to buy its flagship product. Some of them were so memorable that they've entered the national pop culture consciousness, while others are better left in the dustbins of advertising history.
Here's a brief tour of some of the best moments in Mac advertising -- and some of the epic fails."

The Canon Cat
From the description:
"Up for auction is a spectacular Canon Cat computer, a much sought after vintage piece. Designed by Jeff Raskin who worked on the original Macintosh project, but left because he didn't like the direction it was going. This is his answer to the Macintosh.
Seems to have been utilized by some wing of the Canadian government. Exceptionally good condition especially considering it's age. Actually dubbed a "word processor", it is a full fledged 68000 based micro-computer, with a built in FORTH interpreter. Perhaps not the Holy Grail of vintage collecting, but an icon nevertheless."
