Vector Tanks!

February 20, 2009
Talk about a retro-rush! One of our favorite vintage arcade games is now in the palm of our hands!

"Peter Hirschberg has just released Vector Tanks for the iPhone and iPod touch through the iTunes App Store (published
by Chillingo).
Vector Tanks feels like Battlezone 2.0. It's a first-person 3D tank
shooter with a vector-based battlefield display akin to the classic we
know so well, but it features certain modern touches that give the
game a fresh, new feel while not sullying the core retro gameplay.
The notable enhancements include semi-translucent vectors that glow
with a warmth reminiscent of arcade CRTs of old, a smooth inertial
'sway' to the motion of the tank, and a convincing jolt resulting from
the shockwave of near-proximity explosions. It all fits together
nicely."

Apple Macintosh World Tour T-Shirt XL - Vintage & NEW!
From the description:
"This is your chance to own an Apple T-Shirt from the early days of Apple. Pre-iPod, before MacPros- when the iMac was only a twinkle in Steve Jobs eye...
This shirt is a brand-new, never worn or washed, rare 'Macintosh World Tour' shirt, most likely from 1988-1990. It even has a vintage stand-up Mac in dark glasses (Plus, SE, maybe even a Classic?) on the back listing all of the tour stops. On the front, you've got the round 'Macintosh World Tour' logo and the left sleeve has a classic Apple silhouette with the words 'ROAD CREW' underneath it."

We Are Apple (Leading The Way)

February 17, 2009
From our friend Al's YouTube channel, we bring you this classic Apple video!

The Intro:
"This was a corporate song that was used during the Macintosh rollout in January, 1984. I heard it live, in Manhattan, before Steve Jobs took the stage to introduce the Macintosh and the new line of Lisa computer systems.
The copy that's been out on the Internet was pretty ratty looking, with dropouts in the video and the audio. I digitized and restored this version from a first generation VHS tape in my personal library. I also extracted the audio and enhanced it in my home studio to give it some more punch and reduce the noise."

Apple III System 256K Vintage Computer!
From the description:
"This is an amazing, rare Apple /// (or III) computer system! What a find...there aren't too many of these on eBay!
This is a 256K model, as indicated by the sticker on the bottom. There is a cable of some sort coming from one of the expansion slots, but I can't tell what it's for. The computer powers on to a "Retry" screen. I have a few Apple /// disks that I tried in the computer but none seem to load.
I do believe that the disks I have are damaged and that the problem is probably with the disks and not the computer, but I cannot say this for certain. The computer seems to want to boot, and it's not making any terrible noises. I am very familiar with Apple equipment, but this is the first Apple /// I've ever seen, so if you have a suggestion for me to try to better test this, please send along...the geek in me wants to get this one running for certain.
All that said, the computer is sold as-is with no returns. You are bidding on only the computer - the monitor is not included in this auction but will be up for bids later this week. Be sure to keep an eye on my auctions...there is another Apple /// surprise coming up next week as well."

The Trail Mac Blazed Over the Last 25 Years

February 03, 2009
A new article in The Seattle Times, Business and Technology section, by John Boudreau of the San Jose Mercury News.
It begins:
"The Apple Macintosh, born at the hands of renegade engineers in the early 1980s, changed the relationship between human and keyboard. The Mac, which turned 25 last week, has consistently been an industry pioneer of new technology, including the graphical user interface, speech, Wi-Fi and video."
