Lisa Office System 1.0 Tour
The computer collection onboard The Mothership includes an Apple Lisa 2/5 running Office System 3.0 and a Lisa 2/10 running 3.1. For those not familiar with the Lisa GUI, here is a great tour of version 1.0, with photos, by Thomas S. Stepleton at toastytech.com. A great reference! It begins:
"The Lisa Office System is almost without doubt the most popular piece of Lisa software. Version 1 bundled LisaCalc, LisaDraw, LisaGraph, LisaList, LisaProject, and LisaWrite (a spreadsheet, draw program business graphing package, database program, project planning program, and a word processor respectively) together in what would today be called a 'works package' - by version 3, LisaTerminal (a terminal emulator) was included as well. Similar software combinations (like the office bundle that shipped with the Osborne 1, a popular portable computer from 1980) also existed, but the Office System was set apart by its graphical interface and (to a lesser extent) multitasking capabilities. In a sense, the Office System is what makes a Lisa a Lisa - a powerful, easy-to-use personal computer geared toward business and home use - rather than a graphical workstation like some of its contemporaries (such as the ICL/Three Rivers PERQ and perhaps even the Xerox Star)."

The REAL 20th Anniversary Macintosh
A 2004 article by Tim Robertson at MyMac.com in which we compares the all-in-one iMac to the 1997 Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh!
From the article:
"In May of 1997, Apple Computer Inc. released a dream machine, the 20th Anniversary Macintosh. The name, however, was a bit of a misnomer. 1997 was not a celebration of twenty years of the Macintosh, but rather the twenty-year anniversary of Apple Computers. Apple was formed in 1977, and to celebrate, Apple released a machine with a machine with a $7,500 price tag. Ouch!"

In The Beginning - The Dawn of the PowerBook
Another interesting PowerBook Mystique article by Charles W. Moore at PowerBookCentral.com.
It Begins:
"I came to the Mac orbit in 1992, missing the advent of the PowerBook by just one year. At the time, PowerBooks seemed like exotic machines, astronomically expensive and more likely to be used by stars and celebrities than me ordinary mortals -- or so it seemed to this owner of a used Mac Plus."

Jory's Apple Icon Garden Adventure
Apple's legendary icon garden as seen through the camera lens of Jory!
From the site:
"At Apple Computer's Research & Development Campus in Cupertino, California grows a garden unlike any other in the world.
No, these photographs were not altered to include the icons; they grow in the garden naturally! These pictures were merely taken, processed, scanned, and lightly touched up to correct for color and distracting lampposts!"
